Asset Manager - Octopus Energy Generation

Future.This role will focus on our “Fan Club” generation projects, taking on a pivotal role in shaping and leading our approach to their asset management. The core challenge – and opportunity – for this position is to define, formalise, and bring in-house the majority of our asset management requirements relating to these projects, with a view to building long-term capability within the team.This will involve working collaboratively across the business to assess and establish a clear operating model that identifies which services are best outsourced (e.g., Health,Safety & Environmental HSE functions and stakeholder engagement) and which services can and should be internalised to deliver greater value, control, and integration. What you'll do Lead the definition and delivery of asset management functions for our “Fan Club” projectsDefine and implement an appropriate in-house asset management structure, working with teams across the business to identify what should be internalised vs. outsourced (e.g., HSE, stakeholder engagement).Establish and own processes for day-to-day asset performance and oversight.Technical Services – Manage monthly reporting, contractor performance, site inspections, and liaise with HSE/stakeholder management providers.Commercial Services – Handle contracts, compliance, procurement, and insurance matters.Financial Services – Monitor invoicing, payment cycles, and financial reporting.Optimisation – Analyse availability and performance data, and identify improvements.Site Management – Ensure seamless coordination of site access and presence.Take responsibility for managing wind- and solar-related contracts, from pre-construction to operation.Ensure contracts are robust, aligned, and sequenced effectively.Contribute to the development of new wind and solar projects, particularly in the post-planning, pre-construction phase.Act as a commercial and operational link between development and delivery. What you'll need Experience in asset management, contract management, or project delivery – ideally in the renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.Familiarity with operational wind assets or similar technologies is a strong plus.Strong contract management and procurement knowledge.Comfortable analysing technical and financial performance data and drawing actionable insights.Ability to work across internal teams and external suppliers, aligning different priorities and expectations.Confident managing contractors and third-party relationships.Comfortable building processes from scratch and adapting as needs evolve.Able to bring clarity and organisation to complex or undefined challenges.Clear communicator who can simplify complex topics and bring stakeholders on the journey.Collaborative mindset, with a willingness to learn and share knowledge.
